The text message appears out of the blue – pay your tolls or risk late fees and even legal action. The loaded language and tense tone could drive anyone to quickly click on the link and fork over their hard-earned money.
Don’t! It’s a phishing scam.
The goal of these scammers is simple – get their hands on your money or your personal information. The goal for you, the consumer, is simple as well. Stay safe and keep your money and personal information where it belongs – out of the hands of scammers.
