The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Miramar that killed the driver of a vehicle. 

According to detectives, at approximately 3:36 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, the driver of a 2015 Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound on Flamingo Road when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered to the right, leaving the roadway. The vehicle struck the raised concrete curb and continued northbound on the sidewalk. The vehicle went onto concrete jersey barriers and impacted the Florida Turnpike overpass support column before becoming fully engulfed. 

Miramar Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased. Due to the fire, the driver has not yet been positively identified. 

At the request of Miramar Police, BSO’s traffic homicide detectives, with assistance from investigators with the Miramar Police Traffic Homicide Unit, are investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
