Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide investigators are searching for the drivers involved in a crash early Sunday morning in Lauderdale Lakes.

Around 1:36 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 10, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the 3500 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. Emergency crews located an adult male who was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to detectives, the preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian attempted to cross West Oakland Park Boulevard mid-block from south to north. For an unknown reason, the pedestrian entered the roadway and crouched down facing traffic when he was struck by a vehicle in the inside eastbound lane. That vehicle fled the scene after impact. Detectives spoke to witnesses who advised that two other unknown vehicles also struck the pedestrian shortly after the initial crash.
