Broward Sheriff’s Office Annual Awards Ceremony
1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025
Bailey Hall at Broward College
3501 Davie Road, Davie

On Thursday, April 24, the Broward Sheriff’s Office will honor the heroes among us – its employees, community partners and citizens – whose extraordinary service and commitment uplift and protect our community.

Among the honorees at BSO’s Annual Awards Ceremony will be a communications operator who has shown remarkable calmness under incredible pressure, a member of the technology team who has fortified BSO’s cybersecurity defenses and a patrol squad who handled more than 19,000 calls for service last year.

Joining the honorees is a good Samaritan who helped rescue members of the air crew that crashed after their helicopter sustained a mechanical failure. Also, included in the group being honored are three good Samaritans who demonstrated their courage when they helped a victim during a brutal physical assault.

During the April 24 ceremony, five Medal of Honor recipients will be recognized for their extraordinary courage that led them to risk their own lives in moments of unimaginable danger – confronting an active shooter, responding to a devastating crash, and braving perilous waters.

MEDIA NOTE: Reporters interested in covering the ceremony should notify BSO’s Public Information Office by 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025.
