A woman is dead after a three-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Deerfield Beach, and Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 1:39 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, Jean Claude Saint Cyr was driving a 2023 Land Rover Discovery traveling northbound on Northeast Third Avenue in Deerfield Beach. At the same time, Antwon Nahshon Brand was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Northeast Third Avenue and Northeast 44th Street when it was rear ended by the Land Rover.

Detectives say the Land Rover ricocheted off of the Nissan Rogue into the southbound lanes where it struck a 2015 Nissan NV2000, which had come to a stop on Northeast Third Avenue and Northeast 44th Street. The Land Rover continued in a northwest direction while tumbling and rolling. It came to a final rest mid-block near the sidewalk on the west side of Northeast Third Avenue, north of Northeast 44th Street. The entire front axle was ripped off and the engine from the Land Rover was ejected and came to a final rest at the intersection of Northeast 44th Court. The passenger of the Land Rover, Fedeline Alexis Saint Cyr, was ejected as the vehicle rolled.

After being struck by the Land Rover, the Nissan Rogue rolled before coming to a final rest against the front porch of the residence on the northeast corners of the intersection. The driver, and only occupant of the Nissan Rogue, was ejected as it rolled. The driver was located near the front porch partially under the vehicle.

After being hit by the Land Rover, the Nissan NV2000 was launched backwards and came to a final rest in the southbound lanes.

Passenger Saint Cyr was pronounced deceased on scene. The three drivers were transported to Broward Health North for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
