Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation unit are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle that left a man dead in Lighthouse Point.

The fatal collision occurred just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, near the 4800 block of North Federal Highway. Detectives say Steven Evanosky was traveling in a 2002 Ford Ranger and was making a right turn to travel northbound on North Federal Highway from the McDonald’s parking lot. At the same time, Daniel West was riding a 2010 BMW S1000RR northbound on North Federal Highway and struck the driver’s side of the Ford Ranger. West was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a final rest in the rear truck bed of the Ford.

Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue pronounced West deceased on scene. Evanosky did not report any injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
