Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) say 37-year-old Jeff Doresca has been arrested for the sexual battery of a woman at a health center in Oakland Park. Investigators fear there may be additional victims and want to hear from them.
On Monday, Feb. 17, BSO detectives responded to investigate a report of a sexual battery that occurred at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center. The investigation revealed the victim self-admitted herself to the facility to receive treatment. Investigators say that on Sunday, Feb. 16, Jeff Doresca, a male tech at the facility, visited the victim’s room several times at night and battered her sexually. Through investigative methods, detectives confirmed the victim’s report.
In the afternoon of Feb. 17, Doresca showed up to work at the facility and was taken into custody. Doresca was transported to BSO’s Main Jail. He faces six counts of sexual battery on a helpless victim.
Anyone who may have been a victim of Doresca is asked to contact BSO’s Special Victims Unit Detective Dimos Charoudis at 954-321-4243 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.
