The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to investigators, Miguel Estaban-Augustin was driving a 2011 Toyota Tacoma and was traveling southbound in the 3800 block of North Dixie Highway. He was unable to negotiate the curve in the roadway and began to slide in a southeast direction into the northbound lanes. The Toyota struck the curb located on the east side of the roadway before hitting two palm trees. The vehicle came to a final rest in the northbound lanes of North Dixie Highway. 

The driver was pronounced deceased on scene by Oakland Park Fire Rescue.

The investigation is ongoing.
