Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a dirt bike that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man from West Park. 

The preliminary on scene investigation revealed Qwanya Senatus Jean was riding an Apollo Thunder 300 dirt bike traveling westbound on Southwest 20th Street. Meanwhile, Junior Alvarez was driving a 2020 Ram Truck traveling southbound on Southwest 44th Avenue.  

According to investigators, the driver of the dirt bike ran the stop sign at the intersection of Southwest 20th Street and Southwest 44th Avenue and struck the driver’s side of the Ram Truck. 

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and transported Jean to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

The investigation is ongoing.
