Description of Incident
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a man suspected of breaking into a woman’s home in Pompano Beach earlier this month and groping her before fleeing. The man, Stinley Jean Jacques, was arrested Wednesday night in North Miami following days of intensive investigation by BSO’s Special Victims Unit and the BSO Pompano Beach Crime Suppression Team.
According to detectives, a woman was asleep in her home in the 2900 block of Northeast Seventh Avenue on Aug. 16 when she awoke to a man touching her. The man got away, and a criminal investigation commenced. During the investigation, BSO detectives used a variety of investigative methods to develop a possible suspect – Jean Jacques.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, BSO’s Pompano Beach detectives located Jean Jacques. However, he fled in a vehicle before crashing in North Miami. Jean Jacques was arrested and taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center to face several traffic charges related to the arrest. It is expected that he will be brought to Broward County to face charges including burglary battery, stalking and voyeurism.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this or similar incidents is asked to contact BSO Detective Kristy Fleming at 954-321-4875.
