Description of Incident
A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested for aggravated battery and criminal mischief charges on Tuesday.
According to BSO Special Victims Unit detectives, at approximately 7 a.m. on Nov. 4, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a domestic disturbance in North Lauderdale. Deputies responded and made contact with Randall Saintilus and the female victim, who is pregnant, and learned that a verbal and physical altercation occurred between the two parties over Saintilus’ infidelity. The investigation revealed that during the encounter, Saintilus physically caused the victim to fall down a staircase and injure her back.
Detectives also learned of a previous incident where Saintilus broke the victim’s phone, and witnesses told detectives about previous incidents of domestic violence perpetrated by Saintilus on the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
Saintilus was arrested on one count of aggravated battery on a victim that the offender knew or should have known was pregnant and one count of criminal mischief. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail.
“There is zero tolerance for domestic violence, and victims need to know that no one has the right to harm them,” Broward Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony said. “I want those suffering from domestic violence to know that help is available, and victims do not have to suffer in silence. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 for help.”
Saintilus was hired by BSO on July 30, 2018. He is currently on administrative investigative leave without pay.
