Lieutenant Michael Gelske

Executive Officer

Lieutenant Michael Gelske began his career with the Broward Sheriff's Office in 2005 as a deputy sheriff assigned to the Weston District. In 2009 he transferred to the City of Pompano Beach, where he spent five years on road patrol before being assigned as a detective in property crimes.

In November 2015, Lt. Gelske transferred to Criminal Investigations, where he was a detective in the Special Victim's Unit. In May 2017, he was promoted to sergeant and assigned to Pompano Beach road patrol. In September 2017, Lt. Gelske returned to the Special Victim's Unit as a supervisor. In October 2019, Lt. Gelske transferred back to the road and was assigned to Cooper City until April 2021, when he was promoted to lieutenant.

As a lieutenant, he has spent time as a patrol commander in Central Broward/Lauderdale Lakes and Pompano Beach. He has also served as the night watch commander. In September 2022, Lt. Gelske was appointed the Parkland executive officer overseeing daily operations.
