Lieutenant Larry Heath began his law enforcement career in 2002 in the Communications Division, building a strong foundation while gaining exposure to multiple aspects of agency operations. Over the years, he served in a variety of districts, including West Park, Weston, North Lauderdale, and Pompano Beach, developing a broad understanding of community policing and patrol functions. His early experiences helped shape a well-rounded approach to law enforcement and prepared him for more specialized investigative roles.

From 2010 to 2018, Lieutenant Heath served as both a property crimes and violent crimes detective, demonstrating a strong aptitude for investigations and case management. In October 2018, he was promoted to Sergeant, where he held several leadership positions, including road patrol supervisor in the Dania Beach District, Sergeant in the Civil Division, and Sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Division. In the latter role, he supervised the Violent Crimes Unit, leading investigative efforts and guiding personnel in addressing serious violent offenses within Broward County.

In 2025, Lieutenant Heath was promoted to Lieutenant and served as the Alpha Shift Road Commander in Deerfield Beach, overseeing patrol operations. In March 2026, he was appointed Executive Officer for the City of Oakland Park, where he continues to provide leadership and strategic direction. He holds a degree in criminal justice and remains committed to professional excellence and public service.
