Captain Shane Schroeder

Captain Schroeder began his law enforcement career in Colorado in 1995. In 2003, he relocated to Florida and joined the Broward Sheriff's Office. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in a variety of assignments, including Patrol, Field Force, and as a Property Crimes Detective in the City of West Park. In 2005, he transferred to the Regional Investigations Division as a Violent Crimes Detective, where he was honored as the agency's "Detective of the Year" in 2010. The following year, he joined the Homicide Unit, where he served until his promotion to Sergeant in 2013.

As a Sergeant, Captain Schroeder held supervisory roles in the cities of Weston and Cooper City. He managed Alpha Patrol Shifts and led both the Cooper City Criminal Investigations Unit and the Selective Enforcement Team. In 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Since then, he has served as a Patrol Lieutenant in the City of Deerfield Beach and as the Executive Officer at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. He was promoted to the captain of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in March 2026. Captain Schroeder holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Public Administration.
