Captain Christopher Sutter

Captain Christopher Sutter began his law enforcement career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2006 as a road patrol deputy assigned to the Central Broward district. He worked as a Field Training Deputy, Field Force Deputy, and an active member of the Dive Rescue Team from 2009 to 2021. Captain Sutter was promoted to sergeant in 2020, where he was assigned to the Deerfield Beach district, supervising the road patrol deputies and civilian staff. He was assigned to the Division of Internal Affairs in January of 2021. He was promoted to lieutenant in December 2023 and transferred to the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea district as the executive officer. He was promoted to captain of the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea district in August 2025. Captain Sutter holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University.
