Mission:

BSO’s Department of Professional Standards and Investigations is responsible for safeguarding the integrity and professionalism of the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The Department provides investigative services to support operational effectiveness and enhance public safety and also provides the sheriff and senior management with an ongoing process of quality assurance through internal investigations, review boards, policy development, and compliance through audits and inspections.

Objective:

The Department of Professional Standards and Investigations (DPSI) comprises the Criminal Investigations Division, Strategic Investigations Division, Professional Standards Committee, and Office of the Inspector General.

DPSI aims to enhance public trust through accountability in internal processes and effectiveness in investigative strategies. DPSI will ensure the integrity of agency operations through adherence to recognized professional standards.
