WHY: Broward County, along with many communities across the U.S., is greatly affected by suicide. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Medical Examiners Commission 2018 Annual Report, there were 264 suicides in Broward County. In his talk, Kevin Berthia will discuss how we can impact people’s lives just by listening. He’ll share his own story about how someone listened to him and how that simple act helped prevent him from taking his own life.
