TWO SEARCH WARRANTS YIELD CASH, COCAINE AND GUN AT HOMES NEAR SCHOOL

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the Broward Sheriff’s Office served two search warrants at adjacent apartments that resulted in four arrests including one seven-time convicted felon who was in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

BSO’s Central Broward/Lauderdale Lakes Crime Suppression Team (CST) and Neighborhood Response Team (NRT), in coordination with BSO’s SWAT Unit, Drone Unit and members of Dania Beach and Weston CST, seized one 9 mm handgun loaded with multiple magazines and ammunition, 31.6 grams of cocaine, 4.93 pounds of marijuana and more than $9,000 in drug money.

The bust happened less than 400 feet away from Dillard High School at 2709 N.W. 13th St. in apartments one and two. Harry Palmer (DOB 6/26/49), Brook Price (DOB 12/20/91), Alvin Richards (DOB 7/16/92) and Latoya Smith (DOB 11/6/80) were arrested. 

The suspects are facing numerous charges including trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet from a school, possession of marijuana over 20 grams within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammo by a convicted felon.
