Description of Incident:

BSO traffic homicide detectives responded to a collision Thursday night in Oakland Park that left the driver and one passenger dead.

Around 9:46 p.m. on Aug. 29, Don Herby Louis was driving his 2004 Honda Civic with three passengers, traveling westbound on Oakland Park Boulevard approaching Northwest 31st Avenue. According to a witness, an unidentified car headed southbound on Northwest 31st Avenue made a right turn into the far right westbound lane of Oakland Park Boulevard. Louis veered left and struck the raised median, causing him to lose control of the car and slide across the eastbound lanes of Oakland Park Boulevard before hitting a utility pole.
