Description of Incident:
The 16-year-old passenger in a black Lexus died Saturday night after a two-vehicle crash in an unincorporated area of Broward County near Ft. Lauderdale.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. in the 4900 block of Peters Road. The black Lexus was travelling eastbound on Peters Road at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck a blue Subaru. The Lexus then crashed into a utility pole and flipped over onto its roof. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the driver of the Lexus, 17-year-old Frailyn Rodriguez, and 15-year-old passenger, Taleb Suarez, to Broward Health Medical Center. Rodriguez suffered serious bodily injuries, while Suarez's were not life threatening. The second passenger in the Lexus, 16-year-old Jonathan Guerra, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Subaru suffered no injuries as a result of the collision.
Broward Sheriff's Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating.
