A Hollywood man is in the Broward County Main Jail facing a first-degree murder charge for the homicide of a Lauderhill man on Christmas morning.
At approximately 12:34 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 25, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies in unincorporated Central Broward responded to the 2400 block of Northwest Eighth Street after receiving a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots fired. On scene, deputies located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and transported the adult male, Kevon Chapman, to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Using a variety of investigative methods, BSO Homicide Unit detectives identified Shenard Bohler as the suspect in Chapman’s murder. The investigation also revealed that on Sept. 30, 2023, Bohler fired multiple shots at Chapman at a location in Lauderhill.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Bohler’s arrest on the crimes in unincorporated Central Broward and Lauderhill. On Saturday, Feb. 24, BSO’s Burglary Apprehension team (B.A.T.) arrested Bohler in Fort Lauderdale and transported him to the Main Jail.
