Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating the death of a young man who was shot the evening of February 14 while at a neighborhood park in Pompano Beach. Detectives are asking witnesses to come forward with information. 

Just after 9:30 p.m., Brian Wallace, 18, was taking part in a neighborhood card game at Apollo Park, located at 1580 N.W. Third Ave., when two robbers arrived and demanded everyone’s money. When victims tried to flee, shots were fired.  

As shots rang out, witnesses and victims began to run. Wallace and a family member managed to get to their car and escape. That is when they realized that Wallace had been shot. 

Wallace was transported to Broward Health North. He died from his injuries at approximately 3:50 a.m. on February 15.
