On Saturday, Oct. 9, the Broward Sheriff’s Office and community members invite you to participate in a day of resolution and reconciliation during this year’s National Faith & Blue Weekend.
National Faith & Blue Weekend is a collaborative effort between law enforcement entities, houses of worship and/or other community groups aimed at recalibrating police community relations through solutions-focused, in-person, socially-distanced and/or virtual activities concentrated on building bridges and breaking biases within the community.
This Saturday, BSO and its community partners will participate in the national event by hosting a street cleanup event from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at BSO’s Central Broward District 5 located at 200 N.W. 27th Ave. in unincorporated Central Broward.
Following the cleanup event, there will be a community gathering from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park, located at 2520 N.W. Sixth St. in Fort Lauderdale. The gathering will include food, refreshments, contests and prizes.
The National Faith & Blue Weekend is sponsored by the Broward Sheriff's Advisory Council. BSO also partnered with Broward County’s Solid Waste & Recycling Services and with the county’s Parks and Recreation department to make this event possible.
Join the men and women of BSO as we work to build a safer, stronger and more unified community through faith-based partnerships. Together, we can make a difference.
