Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash that left a Margate woman dead Feb. 1. 

Around 10:50 p.m., Walter Boehm was on a 2016 Harley Davidson MC stopped at a traffic light in the westbound left thru lane near the 1100 block of West Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach. Just as the traffic light cycled to green, his motorcycle was struck in the rear by a 2016 Jeep Compass. 

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported Boehm and his passenger, Carol Clark of Margate, to Broward Health North. Clark received emergency surgery, but was later pronounced dead. Boehm was treated for injuries that were not life threatening and released. 

The driver of the Jeep Compass, Eric Shelton, reported no injuries. He remained on scene and cooperated with detectives. 

The traffic homicide investigation is ongoing.
