Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives need help identifying a suspect who shot and robbed a 67-year-old man who was headed to breakfast on Saturday morning.
At 5:19 a.m. March 30, Dennis Moton of Pompano Beach stopped at the Bank of America ATM at 21 S. Pompano Parkway in Pompano Beach to get money for breakfast. That’s when the suspect approached him and demanded his cash. An argument ensued, and the suspect shot the victim and then robbed Moton of his money and bicycle. Moton was able to make his way to the nearby McDonald’s restaurant and call for help.
BSO’s Pompano Beach deputies responded to the scene, along with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue. Moton was transported to Broward Health North with not life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a male with a small to medium build, and about 6 feet tall. He appears to have a bald head and beard. According to witnesses, he fled north from the ATM toward Atlantic Boulevard.
