A man is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Oakland Park earlier this month.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives, at approximately 9:44 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, BSO district deputies responded to the intersection of Northeast 16th Avenue and East Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park regarding a vehicle versus vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that William O’Malley, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry, turned into the path of a 2019 BMW driven by Oscar D. Richards, driving a 2019 BMW. Oakland Park Fire Rescue transported O’Malley to a nearby hospital, at which time he was alert and responsive. His condition declined, and he was later pronounced deceased on Sunday, Jan 16.
BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives were notified and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash.
