Description of Incident:
A fatal hit and run left a pedestrian dead in North Lauderdale Thursday night. 

Shortly before 9 p.m. June 18, a male pedestrian was struck by the front passenger side of a vehicle while crossing the street near the 5400 block of North State Road 7 in North Lauderdale. Following the impact, the driver of the vehicle continued northbound on North State Road 7 and fled the scene.

BSO deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel responded and located the pedestrian suffering from head and pelvic injuries. He was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery and was later pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m.

Based on evidence left at the scene, the vehicle involved is said to be a 2014 to 2020 black Toyota Tundra with possible damage to the front passenger side.
