Description of Incident:

Murder suspect Eric Vail was arrested Wednesday evening in Jesup, Georgia.

Members of the Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT/Fugitive Unit, who are also part of the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force, have been investigating Vail’s whereabouts since May 30. Their investigation led them to Jesup, Georgia.

With members from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Jesup Police Department, the Florida investigative team located Vail at a mobile home in Jesup. Vail resisted at first and barricaded himself inside the mobile home. After about three hours, he was taken into custody.

He is expecting to be extradited to Broward County to face one count of first-degree murder. The investigation continues.
