Broward Sheriff's Office: Public Information Office

PIO Number: 19-6-11

Date: June 19, 2019

Special Victims Unit detectives are asking the public’s help to find the cruel and inhumane person responsible for shooting a family pet with a BB gun on or about May 27 near Sunview Park in Unincorporated Broward.

On May 30, a very worried woman took her beloved cat, Wilson, to the veterinarian. A few days earlier, Wilson had begun acting strangely. He was lethargic, refused to eat and seemed to have trouble breathing. Upon examination, the veterinarian discovered something nefarious; someone had shot Wilson with a BB gun, and the bullet remained lodged near Wilson’s spine.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact BSO Detective Dimos Charoudis at (954) 321-4243 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477). Tips may also be submitted online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
