Description of Incident:

Detectives are searching for the unidentified suspect who fatally shot Freddie Calloway, 41, during an impromptu neighborhood memorial late Friday evening in Dania Beach. Broward Sheriff Office Homicide Unit detectives are asking witnesses to come forward and help the victim’s family find justice. 

At 10:30 p.m., dozens of neighbors were gathered near the 700 block of Phippen-Waiters Road when an unidentified person approached the group and shot Calloway. 

The shooter was initially on foot, but detectives believe they subsequently fled in an unknown vehicle. 

Calloway died at the scene. No one else was injured during the shooting. 

The motive for the shooting remains unclear. The homicide investigation is ongoing.
