Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit are releasing video of a subject wanted in connection to an aggravated assault that occurred in unincorporated Central Broward last month.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, near the 2700 block of West Sunrise Boulevard. When BSO deputies responded, the victim told investigators that an unknown subject around 6 feet tall with a slim build and a bald head had attempted to exit the store without paying for a beer.

In the surveillance video, you can see the subject wearing a green baseball hat, green shirt and black shorts enter the store. The individual then walks directly toward the back of the store where the beverages are and removes a beer from the refrigerator aisle. The subject then walks back to the front of the store where he and the victim have a verbal exchange. In the video you can see the subject place the beer can on the counter before poking the victim several times in the chest. The subject is then seen exiting the store.

Detectives say the verbal dispute continued outside and that the subject threatened the victim with a knife before leaving the premises.

According to the victim, approximately 5 to 10 minutes later, the subject returned to the business. Another verbal altercation ensued, and the subject displayed a gun. Surveillance video captures the subject entering the business a second time wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and shorts.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the subject's identity or whereabouts to contact VCU Detective Lacey Fitzpatrick at 954-722-5803 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.
