Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office Threat Management Unit detectives arrested a Lauderhill teenager for falsely reporting bomb threats at two Lauderdale Lakes schools Thursday morning.

The teenager was arrested Thursday evening, facing two counts of false reporting of a bomb threat. She was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center and later released to her parent.

Around 9 a.m. Dec. 5, school administrators notified BSO deputies of a bomb threat called in to Lauderdale Lakes Middle School. BSO deputies arrived at the school and began canvassing the campus. At approximately 9:19 a.m., a second bomb threat was called into nearby Oriole Elementary School. Both schools were evacuated while deputies conducted searches. The threats were determined to be unfounded.

Working in conjunction with the Real Time Crime Center, detectives identified the caller as a student at Boyd Anderson High School. The teenager confirmed that she contacted the schools and made the false threats.
