Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the death of an infant who was found unresponsive Thursday afternoon in a house in West Park.

 

Shortly after 3 p.m., Regional Communications received a 911call in reference to a two-month-old child who was not breathing. BSO deputies and firefighter/paramedics responded to the residence in the 4600 block of Southwest 22nd Street. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the little boy to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood where he died.

 

Homicide detectives said the child was being cared for along with other infants and toddlers who were in the home at the time.

 

While the investigation continued late into Thursday evening, the other children who were being looked after were able to go home with their parents.
