At approximately 6:45 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, the pedestrian was crossing the roadway from west to east out of the designated crosswalk area near the 1800 block of South Ocean Boulevard in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. At the same time, Joseph Martyn was traveling northbound in a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van approaching the 1800 block.
