Broward Sheriff's Office violent crime detectives, in coordination with BSO's SWAT/Fugitive Unit and its Deerfield Beach Crime Suppression Team, along with the U.S. Marshals Service Taskforce, arrested a Deerfield Beach man for his role in the shooting of another Deerfield Beach man left for dead.
Jeremiah Howard, 24, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant at 3581 N.W. 95th Terrace in Sunrise. He was transported to BSO Main Jail and faces one count of attempted murder.
Shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, Broward Regional Communications received reports of gunshots and a male subject lying face down near the 2900 block of Northwest 11th Court near Fort Lauderdale. BSO deputies and fire rescue personnel responded and found a male subject suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left arm. The victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.
Through proactive efforts and cross-agency collaboration, investigators were able to effectively identify two subjects involved in the incident. The second subject, Jaquan Johnson, 24, was booked at the Palm Beach County jail Friday, Jan. 31 and transported to BSO Main Jail Thursday, Feb. 6. He is also facing one count of attempted murder.
Both Howard and Johnson are possibly believed to be associated with criminal activities in the Deerfield Beach area.
