Description of Incident:

A car crash into a canal left a 27-year-old man dead early Thursday morning. 

Sometime between midnight and 6:38 a.m. Feb. 27, the driver of a 2015 Honda Civic was traveling through the parking lot of the Golf Villas apartment complex near the 5900 block of Northwest 46th Avenue in Tamarac. The car traveled through a metal guardrail and a small tree before entering the canal on the east side of the apartment complex. 

Around 8:20 a.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office dive team responded to the canal where they located the vehicle and confirmed it was occupied. The driver was later identified as Lachtowiz Fernando Frazier of Tamarac. 

There were no witnesses to the crash.

BSO traffic homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash.
