The Broward Sheriff’s Office will host an Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-A-Thon event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Bass Pro Shops located at 200 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach.

The free services will further BSO’s ongoing efforts to prevent prescription drug abuse and identity theft throughout the county.

At the event, officials will collect and dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications, as well as collect documents that may contain sensitive information for shredding.

Residents who turn in prescription drugs will receive a $5 gift card while supplies last. However, needles and sharp objects will not be collected at this event.

A maximum of two boxes per vehicle are allowed for shredding. The box can be at most 16 inches long, 12 inches wide and 12 inches high.
