When K-9s retire, their law enforcement handlers graciously adopt them and continue to care for them on their own. Recognizing that the healthcare for the K-9 can be quite costly due to their years of police service, the Sheriff's Foundation of Broward Retired K-9 Healthcare Fund was created to help with those expenses.
The Foundation covers 50 percent of the K-9’s healthcare until they die. On Saturday, April 6, the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County (SFBC) will host a special K-9 fundraiser at American Heritage School in Plantation. The event will feature works of art by faculty and students from the Art National Honor Society. One hundred percent of the money raised from the auction will go to the K-9 healthcare fund, which benefits retired K-9s from all Broward County law enforcement agencies.
For more information about how to support the evening of art that benefits a special K-9 cause, please contact Juan Arias, the executive director of the SFBC at (954) 326-3076 or visit the SFBC website at: https://www.retiredk9cause.org/
