Broward Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony and the men and women of the Broward Sheriff’s Office invite you to attend its Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-A-Thon event this Saturday, April 5, in Oakland Park.
The free event, which aims to further BSO’s ongoing efforts to prevent prescription drug abuse and identity theft throughout the county, will occur from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BSO Oakland Park District located at 5399 North Dixie Highway.
During the event, officials will collect and dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications and collect documents that may contain sensitive information for shredding.
Residents who turn in prescription medications will receive a $5 gift card while supplies last. Needles and sharp objects will not be collected. Additionally, a maximum of two boxes per vehicle are allowed for shredding. The box can be at most 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high.
