Sheriff Gregory Tony and the men and women of the Broward Sheriff’s Office will join millions of other Americans in observance of this year’s National Day of Prayer on May 2.
Religious leaders from various denominations will lead BSO and offer prayers for government leaders, military, law enforcement, media, families, education, houses of worship and our business community. This year’s theme is “Love One Another.”
Created by Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952, this annual event is celebrated on the first Thursday in May and has served to unite people of all faiths for more than 65 years.
Thursday’s ceremony will include the presentation of colors by BSO Honor Guard, remarks from Sheriff Tony and a song of praise. The public is welcome to attend.
