Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

1005 Joe DiMaggio Drive, Hollywood

This Sunday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Easter Bunny will visit hospitalized children to make their holiday extraordinary.

BSO Law Enforcement Explorers will take turns donning an Easter Bunny suit as they visit with children at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, 1005 Joe DiMaggio Drive in Hollywood. The children will get a warm and fuzzy welcome from the mascot, along with stuffed animals that were donated by The Easter Bunny Foundation.

This holiday tradition between BSO’s community partners at the hospital and the foundation, allows children who have health challenges to forget their troubles momentarily.

The Easter Bunny Foundation is an Orlando-based non-profit that works with hospitals and sheriff’s offices in 31 states to make Easter extra special for some of the youngest hospitalized patients.

BSO Explorers is comprised of teens and young adults who are interested in community service and policing. They undergo a rigorous program that requires them to maintain good grades, learn patrol procedures and serve the public.

MEDIA NOTE: RSVP to BSO’s Public Information Office by 3 p.m. Friday, April 19. An accurate headcount is needed for security purposes.
