Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a traffic dispute that led to the death of a Fort Lauderdale man Sunday evening. Detectives hope to speak with the driver involved in the incident to get more information.

Around 6:15 p.m. Nov. 17, a man was seen lying on the roadway in the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park suffering from a gunshot wound. BSO detectives believe Ian Curtis was driving a white Mercedes-Benz when he became involved in a traffic dispute with an unidentified male in a white full-size, pickup prior to the shooting. Curtis was seen exiting his vehicle before collapsing onto the ground.

A passerby who saw Curtis lying on the roadway began performing CPR on him until Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived. Paramedics transported Curtis to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are asking the driver of the pickup to come forward or anyone with information regarding the incident to contact BSO Detective John Curcio at 954-321-4212. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
