Description of Incident:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office suspects a third car was involved in the fatal collision with a pedestrian on April 20 in Oakland Park.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit needs help locating the driver of a 2000 to 2005 Buick LeSabre. Based on further investigation, detectives believe the LeSabre struck Frank Bryant of Fort Lauderdale.

Around 4:30 a.m. April 20, in the 1800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard, Bryant crossed the boulevard from north to south in the designated crosswalk. For reasons that remain under investigation, the 54-year-old entered the eastbound lanes and then walked north where he stood near a median. It was at that point that a vehicle traveling west in the far left lane of West Oakland Park Boulevard struck Bryant.

According to detectives, Bryant was struck by three vehicles – all of which left the scene. Detectives are looking to identify the drivers of the LeSabre and a 2009 to 2011 Mazda 6 sedan believed to be involved in the early-morning crash. There may be damage to the underside of the lower front bumpers. The driver of a Honda Civic was located on April 20 by BSO detectives and is cooperating with the investigation.

THI detectives said that excessive speed on the part of the involved vehicles is not considered to be a contributing factor in the crashes. Their investigation continues.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact BSO THI Detective Michael Wiley at 954-321-4205 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or
