Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a shooting that killed a man last week in Tamarac.
At approximately 7:31 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 22, Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting shots fired near the 7000 block of Northwest 79th Avenue in Tamarac. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded. On scene, BSO deputies located Mateo Delgado suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies quickly established a perimeter in search for the shooter. Paramedics pronounced Delgado deceased on scene.
BSO homicide detectives responded and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed Delgado was inside a vehicle when he was shot. He drove away crashing into a nearby pole.
