BSO’S OPERATION MEDICINE CABINET AND SHRED-A-THON EVENT IN WESTON

In a continuous effort to prevent prescription drug abuse and identity theft in the community, the Broward Sheriff’s Office will host an Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-a-Thon event in Weston.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Weston District Office located at 17300 Royal Palm Blvd.

BSO officials will collect and properly dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications. Residents who turn in prescription medications will also receive a $5 gift card while supplies last. Needles and sharp objects will not be collected at this event.

Officials will also collect documents containing sensitive information for shredding. A maximum of two boxes per vehicle is allowed, and each box can be no larger than 16 inches in length, 12 inches in width and 12 inches in height.
