BRAZEN BOOZE THIEF BARRELS PAST EMPLOYEE DURING STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

PIO Number: 19-3-8

Date: March 8, 2019

To say this shoplifter is bold would be an understatement. On the evening of February 12, the unidentified man practically dares employees at ABC Fine Wine and Spirits to stop him from stealing. Now Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing video of the strong-arm robbery in the hopes of identifying this unabashed thief.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., a man with dark, short-cropped hair and a medium build walked into the liquor store located at 3355 N. Federal Highway in Oakland Park. He grabbed a cooler bag and shoved in two bottles of whiskey, two bottles of tequila and a bottle of vodka. He then made his way to the registers where two employees were waiting.

At this point, the thief did something truly unexpected. He asked the staff what they might do if he decided to walk out without paying. One employee remarked that he would call the police. That is when the thief decided to make a run for it.

After a brief struggle, he rushed past one of the employees, causing him to fall to the ground, making his escape.

The robber wore a white cap, a tan polo shirt, dark pants, glasses and tan athletic shoes.
