​Captain Adam Hofstein

Deerfield Beach

Captain Adam Hofstein began his career with BSO in 1991 as a deputy in the Department of Detention. In 1996, he became a law enforcement deputy with assignments in the Dania Beach and Lauderdale Lakes districts. In addition to crime prevention and patrol assignments, he served special assignments as a street crimes detective, property crimes detective and special victims detective.

In 2002, he was promoted to sergeant and served as a patrol sergeant and detective sergeant for the Special Victims Unit and the Violent Crimes Unit.

In 2015 he served as executive officer/administrative sergeant for the Department of Administration. In 2017, he was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the agency's Information Technology Division.

He returned to the City of Deerfield Beach District in 2019 to serve as the executive officer and was selected as the district captain in August 2021.

Captain Hofstein graduated from Florida Atlantic University's Public Leadership Program and the FAU Executive Leadership Program. In addition, he has extensive training in law enforcement practices, defensive tactics, criminal investigations and information technology, and has served as a professional trainer in these fields throughout his career. He also currently serves as an adjunct instructor for the agency's defensive tactics program.
