Central Broward comprises the Unincorporated areas of central Broward County and is bordered by I-95 on the east, the Florida Turnpike and State Road 7 on the west, NW 15 Court on the north and the New River on the south.

The annual population of this Unincorporated area is approximately 24,000, but the daytime population increases significantly due to the four major thoroughfares, several schools and a variety of businesses.

Residential neighborhoods located within the district include Broadview Park, Broward Estates, Boulevard Gardens, Franklin Park, Washington Park, Roosevelt Gardens, Madison Apartments and Myers Estates.

In October 2011, BSO's Central Broward District and Lauderdale Lakes District merged to create a new regional services model. The combined district provides a captain, three lieutenants, 10 sergeants, and 62 deputy sheriff positions throughout the region.
