The Broward Sheriff's Office has provided law enforcement, fire rescue and code-compliance services for Cooper City since 2004. Home to more than 35,000 residents, Cooper City has long prided itself on its commitment to maintaining a beautiful, growth-managed city, reflected by its motto: Someplace Special.

Cooper City is predominately a residential community covering 8.5 square miles in southwestern Broward County, with three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school, as well as several private and religious-affiliated schools. All of the public and charter schools within Cooper City have a dedicated School Resource Deputy (SRD) and are supervised by a dedicated SRD Sergeant.

BSO's Cooper City district employs various positions: district captain, executive lieutenant, patrol lieutenant, sergeants, deputies, crime analyst, community service aides/crime scene investigative aides, code enforcement and administrative support staff. Additionally, the City funds an apprehension K-9, bloodhound, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Crime Suppression Team (CST), Priority Service Unit (PSU), and a city-operated Real Time Crime Center. BSO Cooper City has a dedicated crime prevention deputy and a community involvement specialist to help build and maintain meaningful partnerships with residents.

As such, the district offers an array of community programs, including Citizens Observer Patrol (C.O.P.S), R.A.D. Kids, CPTED security surveys for homes and businesses and active killer presentations. BSO Cooper City also offers a Law Enforcement Explorer Program for adolescents aged 14-21. The program allows young adults to learn and experience lawful citizenship as they participate side-by-side with certified BSO deputies in ongoing training and community service projects.

Vacation Home Watch

Cooper City BSO has just launched a NEW way to submit the Cooper City Vacation Home Watch requests to make it more convenient for residents! Instead of residents coming to the station to complete a form, we have contracted with Frontline Public Safety Solutions in order to complete the entry in an online portal. Upgraded features will include email updates when a resident’s house is checked, as well as the ability to submit a house watch from anywhere with an internet connection.

To fill out the request, click here. For questions, please email CooperCity_HouseWatch@sheriff.org.
