CaptainAmiee Russo


Aimee Russo has served with the Broward Sheriff's Office for over 20 years. She began her law enforcement career as a Warrants Technician and Crime Analyst.  Deputy Russo served on road patrol for the Tamarac District.  Detective Russo served with the Counter Terrorism Unit in the Strategic Investigations Division (SID).  Detective Sergeant Russo was appointed to the newly formed Special Events Unit within SID.  She was responsible for planning and executing the security plan for major events, including Fleet Week, the Air and Sea Show, the Orange Bowl and Super Bowl XVI.  Lieutenant Russo served with the Deerfield Beach District, supervising Alpha Shift, Criminal Investigations, School Resource Deputies, Special Events, Community Affairs, and Grants Management.  Lieutenant Russo served as the Executive Officer for the Cooper City District, responsible for managing daily operations. Captain Russo was selected to serve at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. In 2018, she was selected to oversee the Civil Division. Captain Russo's supervisory experience includes Patrol, Internal Affairs and Criminal Investigations.

Aimee Russo is a native Floridian; she has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University; Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University.  She is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute, Command Officers Development Course; the Broward Sherriff's Office Supervisor's Leadership Academy and BSO’s Executive Leadership Academy. She is a graduate of the Broward College Law Enforcement Academy.
